Welcome Dr. Brian Hosfield to the Division of Pediatric Surgery

Brian Hosfield, MD, MS is an assistant professor in the Division of Pediatric Surgery. In this position, Dr. Hosfield will divide his time between clinical care and research and scholarly duties. His primary clinical practices will be at American Family Children’s Hospital, Unity Point Hospital-Meriter and SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital, Madison. Dr. Hosfield will also participate in regional surgical services at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, Wis., and UW Health Swedish American Hospital in Rockford, Ill.

In addition to his clinical and research responsibilities, Dr. Hosfield will be responsible for teaching medical students and residents within the context of his clinical practice at UW Health.

Dr. Hosfield recently completed his fellowship in Pediatric Surgery at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center/Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital and his fellowship in Pediatric Surgical Oncology at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. He received his medical degree from the University of Minnesota and his Masters of Science in Clinical Research from Indiana University School of Medicine. Dr. Hosfield completed his general surgery residency and his postdoctoral research fellowship at Indiana University School of Medicine.
