Department team awarded NIH R01 subcontract to participate in five-year study

A collaborative Department team was recently awarded an NIH R01 subcontract to participate in a five-year, $6 million multi-institutional study, titled “A Comparative Effectiveness Study of Speech and Surgical Treatments Using a Cleft Palate Registry/Research Outcomes Network.” Congratulations to the UW sub-contract team leaders: Maia Braden, CCC-SLP, the site lead SLP, Catherine Garland, MD, the site lead surgeon, and Susan Thibeault, PhD, CCC-SLP, the subcontract PI.

Our Department’s participation distinguishes our craniofacial team as a leading program in the nation. The entire craniofacial team will be enrolling patients in this study.
