Dr. Angela Gibson, Associate Professor of the Division of Acute Care and Regional General Surgery and Medical Director of the UW Health Wound Healing Services, was elected as the Program Chair-Elect for the American Burn Association (ABA).
Dr. Gibson started her career as a burn nurse, and then became a burn surgeon and scientist. She has contributed significantly to the scientific mission of the ABA through the Research Committee and her position as Board Member of the Coalition for National Trauma Research. Her position as the Program Chair-Elect is a reflection of Dr. Gibson’s incredible leadership and expertise in the field of burn care.
The American Burn Association is an international organization consisting of more than 25,000 members. Their mission is to improve the lives of everyone affected by burn injury through education, quality care, research, and prevention. Dr. Gibson will become program chair for the April, 2025 annual meeting and serve a three-year term.
