Department of Surgery Hosts 26th Annual Layton F. Rikkers Education Retreat

On Tuesday, April 30, the Department of Surgery celebrated its 26th annual Layton F. Rikkers Education Retreat. The theme of this year’s retreat was “Enriching Teaching Relationships: Refining Your Approach as a Surgical Educator.”

The invited speaker was Dr. Stacey Tutt Gray, Director of the Sinus Center at Massachusetts Eye and Ear, who spoke about “Granting/Gaining Surgical Autonomy: Strategies for Faculty and Trainees” during the professional development workshop.

The Educational Session was led by Drs. Patrick Varley, Sarah Jung, and Desmond Layne. During this session, they discussed “Improving Feedback in Workplace Based Assessments.”
