Miloš Buhavac, MBBS, is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Acute Care and Regional General Surgery. In this position, Dr. Buhavac will divide his time between clinical care, research, and scholarly activities. Based primarily at University Hospital, Dr. Buhavac will participate in the Trauma, Emergency General Surgery, Surgical Nutrition Support, Surgical Critical Care, and Burn services on a rotating basis. In addition, Dr. Buhavac will be responsible for teaching medical students, residents, and fellows within the context of his clinical practice.
Dr. Buhavac’s research responsibilities will relate to his work in novel synthetic platelets and platelet dysfunction in trauma.
Previously, Dr. Buhavac worked at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, where he held various positions, including Chief of Trauma and the Trauma Medical Director at the John A. Griswold Trauma Center. Prior to working at Texas Tech, Dr. Buhavac completed both his general surgery residency and his surgical critical care fellowship at the University of Utah.
