Brigitte Smith, MD, MHPE, returns to UW-Madison as an Associate Professor in the Division of Vascular Surgery and as the Department of Surgery’s Vice Chair of Education. Dr. Smith previously attended UW-Madison for her Doctor of Medicine and for her internship and vascular surgery residency.
In her role as an Associate Professor and Vice Chair of Education, she will split her time between clinical, administrative, and research responsibilities. Dr. Smith’s clinical practice will be based primarily at the University Hospital, but she will also perform clinical care at Unity Point Hospital-Meriter and at the UW Health Vascular Surgery clinics.
Over the past five years, Dr. Smith has served as the Vice Chair of Education for the Department of Surgery at the University of Utah and she is excited to bring this experience to UW-Madison’s Department of Surgery.
