Elaine Bigelow, MD, is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery. Dr. Bigelow will join the Otolaryngology Facial Plastics surgical program, and will have practice locations out of University Hospital, Eastpark Medical Center, UW Health Aesthetics and Plastic Surgery Clinic, and the VA Hospital. Her research endeavors will include development of an outcomes-centered research program focused on patient treatment decision making, particularly as it pertains to patients with facial paralysis, and transgender and gender-diverse individuals seeking gender-affirming care.
Additionally, Dr. Bigelow was named the Director of the Facial Nerve Program for the Division of Otolaryngology. In this role, she will help continue to develop the clinical program, perform outreach to referring physicians, and assist in marketing efforts.
Dr. Bigelow recently finished a fellowship in the Division of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco. Prior to that, she received her medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine and completed her residency at Johns Hopkins University in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery.
