Dr. Rebecca Sippel, Chair of the Division of Endocrine Surgery, transitioned into the role of President of the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons (AAES) after spending the past year as President-Elect. As president, some of her responsibilities will include presiding at retreats and meetings, serving on the Foundation Board, and delivering an address to the membership at the Annual Scientific Meeting of the AAES.
“My entire clinical and academic career has been focused on improving the care for patients with endocrine surgical problems and the AAES is an organization of surgeons from around the world that share those interests,” Dr. Sippel said. “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to lead the organization over the next year, and I am excited to take on some initiatives that can help improve the care of our patients not just here at UW, but around the world.”
The American Association of Endocrine Surgeons is dedicated to the advancement of the science and art of endocrine surgery. The AAES is committed to providing surgical expertise in diseases of the thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal glands as well as in neuroendocrine tumors of the pancreas and GI tract.
