
Saad Sahi, MD is an assistant professor in the Division of Acute Care and Regional General Surgery. Dr. Sahi will be based primarily at University Hospital. Clinically, he will participate in the Trauma, Emergency General Surgery, Surgical Nutrition Support, Surgical Critical Care, and Burn services on a rotating basis. In addition, Dr. Sahi will be responsible for teaching medical students, residents, and fellows within the context of his practice.
One of Dr. Sahi’s research responsibilities will include developing a global surgery education research program in conjunction with the Department of Surgery’s global surgery efforts. He will also collaborate with the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation (WARF) and other groups on campus to develop surgical innovations to bring to low- and middle-income countries. In addition, he will work on developing a Global Surgery Track for the Acute Care Surgery Fellowship Program.
Dr. Sahi completed fellowships in Surgical Critical Care and Acute Care Surgery at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. He also completed fellowships in Global Health Equity and Global Surgery at the University of California San Francisco. Prior to that, he completed his medical degree at the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine and his general surgery residency at the Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin.
