Dr. Anthony D’Alessandro Awarded Clinical Sciences Emeriti Faculty Award

Dr. Anthony D’Alessandro, professor emeritus in the Division of Transplantation, was awarded the Clinical Sciences Emeriti Faculty Award from the Wisconsin Medical Alumni Association (WMAA) at the WMAA Awards Banquet on May 1.

The Emeriti Faculty Award recognizes outstanding service to the UW School of Medicine and Public Health. It is awarded to emeriti faculty in the Basic and Clinical Sciences who have exhibited exceptional commitment to the school over a period of years.

“Dr. D’Alessandro was a deeply dedicated faculty member at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health,” Dr. David Foley, professor and Chair of the Division of Transplantation, said. “He was an outstanding surgeon whose career was defined by a lifelong commitment to advancing the field of transplantation. An exceptional surgical educator, he was deeply passionate about mentoring and training the next generation of transplant surgeons. Through his clinical excellence, scholarship, and mentorship, Dr. D’Alessandro made enduring contributions to organ transplantation and exemplified an unwavering commitment to academic and professional excellence.”
